Swimmers!
We hope you all battened down your hatches and fared well through the storm, and continue to fare well in the aftermath. The past few weeks have been a nightmare for everyone in our area and all over the region. It's sad to see so many lives, homes and entire towns devastated by the storm. Overall we consider ourselves fairly lucky, but Lifeguard Nights HQ (aka Bruetown) flooded and there's pretty extensive damage throughout the first floor. Our percussionist PJ's house got hit even harder by the storm and lost basically everything. It sucks. Everything's falling apart, I'm over it, and at the moment there truly seems to be nothing left to live for....
...with one exception:
The Annual Xmas Show which is taking place at the
Mercury Lounge on
Thursday December 20th. We'll be opening up for
East River Bandits and
Wormburner, and as always the night will be capped off with an all-star rock-and-roll
Christmas-themed jammy jam. This show is quite literally the only thing stopping me from sucking on an exhaust pipe right now. I really hope you can make it.

We'll also be celebrating the release of a
NEW South Jersey Seashore Lifeguard Convention Band ALBUM at this show. It's titled
"We're Having A Great Time" and as you may or may not know from reading this blog, we started recording it about two years ago at a house on LBI, which may or may not still be standing after Sandy. If I had to guess, it's not in a good shape. And that is sad, because that house was awesome and that was the best vacation of my life. Anyway I'll be putting the bandcamp link up soon when it's ready, and then you can hear it, and you will probably love it.
Safe swimming,
Vincent
